Microsoft Windows 8 Fast Boot in 8 Seconds Time Demonstration [Video]

Hibernation was kept as a feature in Windows 7 which still had a lot of bugs and many drivers did not use to take over after waking up the system from hibernation. When a lot of drivers used to crash then more than half of windows 7 users focused on rebooting windows instead of Hibernating it.

Hibernation feature is kept to save time but generally it wastes more time as the users have to reboot the system completely. Hibernation feature in windows 7 had a lot of expectations and Microsoft itself had trust on it but now all should be thankful to such failures because, in Windows 8, Microsoft has reduced the booting time to 8 seconds only which is unbelievable but so far according to their official blog and video released it seems that they have made up their minds to match with competitors of market by increasing speeds.

Nowadays people only prefer those operating systems who work on greater speeds and now Microsoft has taken a step forward in which developers have reduced boot time to 8 seconds only. Now there will be no more requirement to hibernate the windows because in my point of view in Windows 7 wake up time from is even more than 8 seconds. This new start up mode will make the hibernation similar to reboot. Gabe Aul, the director of program management of windows, said:

“Our solution is a new fast startup mode which is a hybrid of traditional cold boot and resuming from hibernate, Now here’s the key difference for Windows 8: as in Windows 7, we close the user sessions, but instead of closing the kernel session, we hibernate it. Compared to a full hibernate, which includes a lot of memory pages in use by apps, session 0 hibernation data is much smaller, which takes substantially less time to write to disk”
