There are a lot many people who get the invalid IPA installation problem. In order to resolve the issue we have described the steps in the section below. This problem occurs on the Jailbroken iPad, iPhone and iPod touch. In Jailbroken iDevice there is Installous to download an application from a list of a lot many sources available. In normal scenarios the application is downloaded and installed directly on Jailbroken device. But there is a case when the application is downloaded successfully but when you try to install it an error message is shown: Invalid IPA/ installation failed. Without wasting any further time, we will explain proper fix in the section below:
Case No.1:
In first case you can reinstall both Installous and AppSync on your Jailbroken device. Then try to install any application. Hopefully it will work fine now. In order to reinstall go to Cydia > Manage > Packages. Here scroll down and find both Installous and AppSync. You will find that in the alphabetical order so finding them won’t be difficult, then scroll and locate both AppSync and Installous. Once you find them reinstall both the application from here.
Case No. 2:
If case 1 don’t work for you, don’t worry because we have another method that is to open Cydia > Manage > Packages and tap on AppSync. Now if you on iOS 4 and above, then you will find AppSync for iOS 4+ and you will find out that it was downloaded from the Hackulous repository. If you find out something different from what is written in the section above and it says something like AppSync or Appsync for iOS 3+ and you find it in any other repository, don’t waste time and uninstall this immediately and proceed to the Hackulous repository in order to install it from there. If you have iOS 3, then you must upgrade to iOS 4 or any greater version.
