HP TouchPad CyanogenMod 7 Build Video Released Shows Multitouch Working Properly

If you are one of those who have bought one of the HP TouchPad couple of weeks ago in $99 sale then thinking about CyanogenMod 7 can be no more a dream for you to materialize. Few days back we heard that TouchDroid team has achieved the landmark of dual boot of WebOS and android gingerbread on same HP TouchPad tablet. Once Multitouch support was added to this tablet then things were really seemed to be turning in the positive direction for users.

The video has recently been released showing CyanogenMod 7 support on HP TouchPad full version is entering final stages. This means that after release of full version of this build, only WiFi support with removal of few bugs will be left out to be done on HP TouchPad.

This news actually comes from well known Android development forum Rootzwiki and it say that:

What is working as of now?
We are currently building the kernel and CM7 from source and able to boot on the TouchPad. ADB and USB Android gadget is working. We are also able to boot CM7 from LVM which will allow us to easily dual boot WebOS and Android in the future.

Working:
-Android USB gadget with adb
-LVM in Android
-Touchscreen with multitouch
-gfx acceleration
-proper pixel format(color).

What doesn’t work?
Wifi does not work. Most devices secondary to the SoC(CPU, GPU, etc) have not been tested yet.

This is certainly a very good news for users of TouchPad who bought it just for the price of $99 and after efforts of TouchDroid team and other developers it will not be less than any market competitor with 1.2 GHz snapdragon dual core processor.
