1. Baghdad
The capital of Iraq seems to be the most dangerous city of Asia at present. Since the US troops launched an offensive against the Saddam regime in Iraq in 2003 the whole country and the capital city in particular is in the grip of devastating bomb blast which are mostly suicidal. Car bombs are the most common form of terrorist attacks. if you happen to be in Baghdad under some compulsion, please do not go out and move around frequently. You never know the car parking lot where you are standing contains an explosive ridden vehicle parked that can blow up taking 20 to 40 lives with it.
2. Kabul
The capital city of Afghanistan is second on the list of dangerous places for the same reason. The war on terror was unleashed by American-led allied forces in Afghanistan following the fateful events of 9/11. Though the Taliban government was toppled within weeks but still after a decade of starting the war the Taliban fighters are fighting a guerrilla war against the NATO forces there. The suicide bomb attacks by the Taliban against the foreign forces are very common in Kabul which swallows the innocent people as well. If you are a foreigner, apart from being killed in a bomb blast, you can also be kidnapped by the Taliban either for a heavy ransom or other concessions from the government.
3. Manila
The capital city of Philippines is notorious for street crimes. A large number of unlicensed firearms are possessed by the gangsters who are on a robbing spree almost every night. If you happen to visit Manila you must avoid slum areas and do not roam about in poorly lit areas of downtown. In most of the cases the police is also found to be accomplice of the criminals so you may not get justice without bribing the officials.
4. Bangkok
The capital city of Thailand has seen a major surge in the crimes over the past few years. The reason is that a large number of criminal have managed to organize their underground networks. Kidnapping for ransom is very common crime there and most likely targets are the European nationals.
5. Karachi
The law and order situation in the largest city and seaport of Pakistan on Arabian Sea has deteriorated over the past about two decades. The politics based on ethnicity and language has virtually divided this metropolitan into different segments where a battle for land grabbing, political vendetta and money extraction goes unabated. The apathy of successive governments have added fuel to fire and resulted in target killings and kidnapping for ransom. Though most of the victims are the locals but the foreigners can also become the target inadvertently.
