Ohi Nuclear Reactor in Japan Shuts Down after Some Technical Fault

ohi nuclear reactor JapanPressures in the safety tanks dropped with out any reason which made the working staff worried about the cause. Cause of this sudden pressure drop remained undetermined and according to technical people they are still searching for the reason of this incident. As a safety measure, they are not going to start the operation of nuclear reactor unless the cause is determined.

Japan has already faced a number of nuclear accidents and the last one was due to Tsunami few months back. Japanese do not certainly want another nuclear disaster to occur for their country and people. May that disaster be of smaller or at a large scale.

But according to the latest news no radioactivity was observed in the area which is a sigh of relief for authorities. But if we take a look at Fukushima Daiichi nuclear plant that plant is still expelling radioactivity and people had a lot of concerns about that. So if Ohi plant also stops working then there may be a power shortage for sure in the country.
Why the Ohi Plant Stopped Working?

Pressure in the tank having boric acid, which is designed to slow down or control the nuclear fission in emergency conditions suddenly dropped on Friday in Ohi Nuclear Reactor number 1. After that pressures came back to normal level but as the cause is undetermined that is why this reactor will be shut down completely by 1200 GMT.

This reactor is 350 kilometers West of Tokyo and now after this closure only 18 out of 54 Japanese reactors will be operational. This has the capacity to produce 1.18 mKW and no one is sure from the officials when this reactor will be stared again.
